Research Interests
Byzantine material and visual culture, Byzantine Cyprus, hesychasm, monasticism, pilgrimage.
My research interests focus on the archaeology of religion in Cyprus. Specifically, the utilization of the material and visual culture to investigate the hermits’ lifeways in Cyprus during the Byzantine period. More broadly, I am interested in the archaeology of hesychasm, monasticism and pilgrimage in the Levant. Previously, I have focused on Palaeolithic Archaeology, Environmental Archaeology and Zooarchaeology in the Levant and Australia.
