Miranda Creswell studied at Camberwell School of Art in the 1980s and has since then held many exhibitions in the UK and abroad.
She has held an art residency at the Nuffield Orthopedic Centre, Harris Manchester College and at the CentQuatre ,Paris, France.
She was the project artist for EnglaID for five years until 2016, a research project on the English landscape, University of Oxford, Archaeology Department.
She has been artist in resident for Horatio’s Garden engaging patients and staff and the archaeology department of University of Oxford with the project Looking Out 2014 to 2018 in Glasgow, Salisbury and Stoke Mandeville NHS spinal units.
She has made a series of short films with drawings on women scientists, in collaboration with Ashleigh Griffin from the Zoology Department, University of Oxford, funded by L’Oréal and by the Physics Department at the University of Cambridge.
She is Artist in Resident for the Institute of Archaeology, University of Oxford, recently working for a public project with archaeologists, on the history of rivers, called The Ripple Effect, involving 11 public sites in the UK.
She is currently working on a project with the Institute of Archaeology, Handmade, on the process of handmaking looking at creativity through clay, by drawing potters alongside other researchers using different methodologies.
Miranda is now working with Robyn Mason, the Communications Officer School of Archaeology, and School of Anthropology and Museum of Ethnography at the University of Oxford, for the ASPECT Innovation Fellowship project, which in this case is putting research and art into unexpected spaces and local independent businesses of Oxford.
